Lewis structure for POCl3

For the Lewis Structure of POCl3, why is P in the middle?

Because P has a lower ionization energy. O and Cl have roughly the same, so they all go around the outside

I think P is in the middle because it is the least electronegative. When drawing lewis structures, the least electronegative atoms goes in the middle, which in this case, would be phosphorus because it is lower on the periodic table.

It is the only one out of the three that has an expanded octet.

P is the central atom because it is the least electronegative in comparison to O and Cl, and it also has the ability to be an expanded octet, which makes the drawing of the lewis structure accurate.

P is in the center because it has the lowest ionization energy out of the atoms in the structure.

P is the least electronegative in comparison and therefore is the central atom. It also has the ability to be an expanded octet

Phosphorus is unique in that it has an expanded octet and is also the least electronegative which is why it is the central atom.
