chemical formulas

Are we going to need to know the chemical formulas of compounds in order to create the lewis structure, or will they be given?

I am not completely sure, but in the examples in class, they were given. For more commonly known compounds, we should be able to derive the chemical formula with the name.

It's always good to know the commonly known compounds but I think when you are asked to draw the lewis structures the formulas will be given.

I'm not sure, but it's a good skill to have in case. There's a section about it in the Fundamentals section of the textbook.
