Covalent vs Ionic

Postby Alvaro Chumpitaz 4D » Sat Oct 26, 2019 9:28 pm

Which is a stronger bond? Covalent or an ionic bond?

Ionic bonds are stronger than covalent bonds. A covalent bond involves overlapping of orbitals while an ionic bond involves charge separation.

Ionic bonds are much stronger than covalent bonds. This is because ionic bonds involve the complete transfer of electrons so the electrostatic forces are stronger.
