That shape is the resonance hybrid and it depicts the bond length as relatively equal rather than some being stronger than others. For example, the c-c single bond in benzene has a length of 1.54 Angstroms while the c=c double bond in benzene has a length of 1.34 Angstroms. Experimentally, however, each of the c-c bonds are 1.39 Angstroms.
