How is the lewis structure for H2C(NH2)COOH determined?

its essentially H-N-C-C-O-H with an hydrogen connected to the 1st carbon on the lewis structure and on the second carbon a double bond forms with oxygen. the first nitrogen also has a single bond with a hydrogen.

Generally, when you see a molecular formula given like that (instead of say C2H5NO2), the formula is a structural formula and can give you a clue about how to arrange the atoms in the Lewis structure. H2C, NH2, and COOH are all segments of the actual Lewis structure, with H2C in the center and NH2 and COOH on opposite sides of it. In general, it's probably a safe bet to put C in the center of the Lewis structure, and then it's just a bit of trial and error trying to figure out what structure makes the most sense. However, once you figure out how to arrange the 2 C atoms and the 1 N atom you don't have to worry about figuring out where all the H and O atoms go b/c the structural formula already gives you that information.
