"Draw the Lewis structure for each of the following mole- cules or ions and give the number of electrons about the central atom: (a) SF 6 ; (b) XeF 2 ; (c) AsF 6 2 ; (d) TeCl 4"

So for a) SF6, S would have 6 bonds around it connecting it to F, so would that be 12 electrons around the central atom?

Sulfur is one of the exceptions that Dr. Lavelle mentioned in terms of being able to have an expanded octet. It can bond to 6 atoms and have an expanded octet with 12 electrons.
