Re: Lewis acids and bases?
I believe so! I do know that we will be going over more acids and bases towards the end of the quarter

Yes! Lewis acids accept electrons whereas lewis bases donate electrons. We will definitely elaborate more on them in the future weeks remaining in the quarter

Re: Lewis acids and bases?
I would think that we are held responsible for understanding Lewis acids and bases for all of the upcoming assessments. It appears on the syllabus in Focus 3: Chemical bonds. We did not complete all of focus 3 before the midterm, but I assume that the material will be fair game on future tests.
I remember the difference between Lewis acids and bases by thinking that Acid and Accept but start with A, and Lewis acids accept electrons. Further, Base and borrow both start with B, and Lewis Bases allow acids to "borrow" electrons, as they are giving them up/donating them.

Yes! So Lewis acids are electron pair acceptors and Lewis bases are electron pair donors. Ions with a positive charge signifiy that it can accept a pair of nonbonding electrons. Ions with a negative charge signify that it can donate a pair of nonbonding electrons.
