Oxidation Numbers
I was doing the Sapling homework, and I came across a problem involving oxidation numbers, #10 on Sapling. We have yet to talk about oxidation and oxidation numbers in lecture, correct? Is this something we will talk about in the future, or am I expected to pick up on it on my own?

Re: Oxidation Numbers
I don't see it on the outline for chemical bonds so it might have been a mistake.
Re: Oxidation Numbers
It will probably be covered soon; in the meantime here is a helpful chart in case you want to take a look: https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=htt ... AdAAAAABAD

Re: Oxidation Numbers
I'm sure we will cover it if/when we do redox reactions. That might be a part of 14b though, I'm not sure. But for this unit I don't believe we need to know them.
Re: Oxidation Numbers
Hi! As others have said, I don't see it on the outline posted on the class website so I would not worry too much about it for this unit. While I think sapling is helpful sometimes I think can be a little off of what we are actually required to know.

Re: Oxidation Numbers
Other people have said this already, but it'll probably either be covered soon, or since it's not on the outline, won't be a big deal for this chapter!

Re: Oxidation Numbers
Yeah it seems as if it might be covered soon or not be important for this chapter as it is not on the outline.

Re: Oxidation Numbers
I wouldn't worry about a topic that isn't on the outline, but it would also be useful to read through the chapter in the textbook just to make sure you know the basics.
