VSEPR Model

Postby Michelle Romero 1B » Mon Nov 11, 2024 9:18 pm

Hi! I'm having a hard time knowing how to utilize the VSEPR model. In my understanding it explains the observed shape of molecules, but when exactly do we utilize it? How do we utilize it based on the information provided by the Lewis Structure?

You had basically explained it, the VSEPR Model basically describes the shape of the molecule. And to put simply, to my knowledge you will utilize it depending on the type of bonds(single, double and triple) that are being made, the amount of bonds being made, as well as the amount of lone pairs.

Hope this helps.
