Resonance Structures

When drawing resonance structures are there a certain amount of structures we are allowed to make or would we make as many as possible. is it possible to have more than 3?

I'm sure it's possible to have more than three, but they would either be less common or somewhat more unstable than the others. An example is SO4, which I believe has at least 6 resonance structures.

Yes it is possible for structures to have more than three resonance structures although not as common. And yes you would draw out all of them.
