Naming coordination compounds

Can the use of “chloro” be interchangeable with “chlorido”?

Yes! One of them is just an updated way. I remember Lavelle saying he will accept either :)

Even though both are acceptable, make sure to stick with one convention if there are multiple ligands in the coordination compound.

apparently the "-ido" is a new form of naming but "chloro-", "cyano-"etc are still valid according to Lavelle. Both should be fine.
