Is the purpose of resonance structures to help us draw the best/most accurate Lewis Structure? I am still slightly confused on resonance and what the purpose of it is.

Resonance structures show the possible ways that elements can be bonded. By drawing all possible combinations (such as single, double, triple bonds), we can calculate the formal charge of each configuration to find the most stable arrangement.

Resonance is the blending of structures with the same arrangement of atoms but different arrangements of electrons. The actual structure is a hybrid of these resonant structures and is the most stable structure. The resonant structures all have the same energy and allow us to both visual and predict the actual structure.

The purpose is to show that there may different possible ways that the bonds can be formed while the overall charges remain the same.

Like others said, the purpose is to show another possible combination of bonds. However, the true bond is somewhere in between due to electrons' wavelike properties.

Resonant structures show all the possible orientations the electrons can take within a molecule. All resonant structures are virtually the same. They exist only because of the electron density shifting.

Resonance is the blending of structures, portraying the arrangement of atoms with different arrangements of electrons. From the different arrangements, the resonance represents the most stable structure and yes the most accurate lewis structure.

Resonance just refers to the concept that a single molecule is not restricted to a rigid structure. Rather, it can change into unique resonance structures.

There are multiple possible ways in which a molecule can be pictured in Lewis dot form. This is what resonance refers to.
