strength of bonding?

Do resonance structures affect the strength of bonding? And if so, how?

It depends on the resonance structure. For example, if a resonance structure changed from a two double bonds to one single and one triple bond, than the triple bond has an increased strength than the previous double bond.

In general, resonance structures hold the same amount of energy; however, of course when the bond changes from single bond to double bond, then the bond strength changes.
