Radicals

Postby Nancy Le - 1F » Mon Nov 13, 2017 8:27 pm

Are radicals stable compounds even though they have an unpaired electron?

I don't think they are stable because of the unpaired electron. They are highly reactive and only exist for a short amount of time.

No, they are not stable. It is very likely that another atom/molecule seeking to finish its valence shell with one electron will bond with the radical.
