octet rule exception

Just for clarification, the octet can be exceeded if atoms are in the d-block?

Yes, atoms that have a d orbital can use it to expand their octet.

Yes, because the d-orbitals in elements in period 3 or higher are capable of holding up to 10 atoms.

Yes it could accommodate more than eight valence electrons by using one or more d orbitals
