Elements with Exceptions to Octet Rule

Postby Tiffany Dong_4e » Sun Nov 03, 2019 8:13 pm

Which elements have exceptions to the octet rule? i.e. Phosphorous which can have an expanded octet or Boron which doesn't need a full octet

Typically, atoms in the third period or further down are exceptions to the Octet Rule, as they can use the d-orbitals for extra valence electrons.
