Polarization of Large Atom

In the lecture, we have discussed that London Dispersion forces are stronger within larger atoms because they have a larger number of electrons. But why is that the case because aren't there supposed to be more electron repulsion with more electrons? Thanks :)

This is due to the fact that due to a higher number of electrons, this increases the atomic radius, creating valence electrons that are on average farther from the nuclei, thus a lower positive charge felt by them. This allows them to be less tightly attracted, being more easily to form dipole charges.

Since, as stated above, the atomic radius of a larger atom is so big, its shape can become more easily distorted, meaning it is highly polarizable.
