Electronegativity Caluclations

Postby Betty Wolkeba section 1L » Tue May 22, 2018 6:17 pm

Will we be given the electronegativity of elements of compounds to calculate their electronegative difference or will we be expected to estimate/memorize them?

I am pretty sure the electronegativity would be given, because research would have to be done to obtain such values.

They also have periodic tables with electronegativity listed which allows you to see patterns between elements, but yes it will be given

I'm not sure if we'll ever be given them, so it's helpful to just know the trend- that electronegativity increases as you go across a period and decreases as you go down.

I think we will be expected to estimate the electronegativity of elements based on their location on the periodic table.
