There are no units for EN because it is more a chemical property that describes the tendency to attract electrons. A scale is used with trends on the periodic table because this is the easiest way to describe EN relationships.

There are not really any units for electronegativity because it is more of a periodic trend. However, a related charge difference can be measured by an electric dipole moment. This is notated by the greek letter "mu" and its units are called a debye (D, SI units: Columbs.m). However, I think Dr. Lavelle mentioned that we wouldn't be doing these calculations yet.

electronegativity is more of a concept than anything. It simply helps us understand the pull between atoms due to periodic trends and so it doesn't really require a unit
