Electronegativity
Can the differences in electronegativity be used to figure out any information about the structure of the molecule or is it solely used to determined the type of bond?

Re: Electronegativity
Not sure, but I think it only has to do with the type of bonds not the actual shape. Also the greater the difference in electronegativity the larger the dipole.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Electronegativity
Electronegativity helps with molecule shape in the way that it allows you to figure out which molecule is the central one. The least electronegative molecule tends to be the one in the center.

Re: Electronegativity
Adding on to Connie's post, the lowest ionization energy atom will be in the center (ionization energy and electronegativity follow the same trend) because the atoms on the outside are more electronegative/higher ionization energy and want electrons.
