Electronegativity is the ability for an atom to electrons to bond to the element and polarizability is the extent to which an atom is distorted and how dipoles form.

Electronegativity is how tight the electrons are held together. Polarizability is the ease to release an electron. High electronegativity= electrons are held very tight together, high polarizability=easier to release an electron (due to it being a larger atom).

electronegativity is the tendency of an atom within a chemical bond to attract electrons to itself. this is why when the difference in electronegativity is high enough, one atom rips an electron off of another, as this atom has a tendency to pull electrons to itself so much more than the other.

polarizability, as others have stated above, is the tendency of an atom's electrons to be distorted. this ties into electronegativity as the smaller the difference in electronegativity between two atoms, the higher the polarizability of those atoms. since a high polarizability means that the electrons of said atom are more loosely bound to the nucleus, electronegativity and polarizability are inversely related.

Electronegativity is an atom's ability to attract electrons, as in a covalent bond. Polarizability increases with decreasing element binding energy

Electronegativity is how tightly the electrons are held together and polarizability is how easy/difficult it is to lose an electron.
