Ionization energy is the amount of energy needed to remove an electron from a neutral atom. Electron affinity is the change in energy from a neutron attracting an electron, that when present, causes a negative charge on the ion. Electronegativity is the ability of an atom within a molecule to attract electrons. Electron affinity is the change in energy from attracting an electron, electronegativity is the ability to attract electrons.

Ionization is the process of forming ions by losing or gaining electrons, electron affinity is like how likely the atom is to gain an electron, and electronegativity is how likely the atom would take an electron.

Ionization energy is the minimum energy needed to remove an electron from an atom in the gas phase. Electron affinity is the energy released when an electron is added to a gas phase atom. Electronegativity is the electron pulling power of an atom.
