polarization power
is polarization power referring to the anions or the cations? I was thinking the anions because they are the ones that want to gain electrons but I feel like I'm wrong. can someone explain?

Re: polarization power
Polarizing power refers to cations because the electrons around the nucleus of the anion are drawn to the cation.

Re: polarization power
The ability of a cation to distort an anion is the polarization power and the tendency of the anion to become polarized by the cation is polarizability
