In terms of drawing Lewis Structures, how does dipole moments effects the structure of an atom?

Symmetric molecules have dipole moments, but since the molecules are symmetric the dipole moments cancel out and the molecule is nonpolar. If a molecule is polar then it's Lewis structure is not symmetric so the dipole moment vectors don't cancel out.

If there is a dipole attraction then there must be a negative and positive part of the molecule. One end of the molecule will be delta negative and the other will be delta positive. I believe you can include the delta negative/positive on the lewis structure and this will help you see how the molecules will interact. In the dipole attraction the negative end of one molecule will be attracted to positive end of the other.

What exactly does the term "dipole" mean?

A dipole is a separation of electrical charges and these molecular dipoles occur due to the unequal sharing of electrons between atoms in a molecule.

I thought dipole moments would only be taken into consideration when drawing VSPER models?? Isn't lewis structures mainly just the elements present in a molecule and its lone pairs of electrons?

I'm pretty sure dipole moments are only relevant in VSPER and not Lewis structures.

Dipoles do not have much influence over Lewis structures, they are only important in VSEPR models.
