Interaction Potential Energy

Postby Jayde Felix 4H » Tue Nov 27, 2018 8:55 pm

Do we need to know the formula to find the interaction potential energy? He mentioned it in lecture on November 7.

No I don't think we have to know the formula since we never really did any math with it, I think you just have to know the general concept of how potential energy relates to the behavior of IM forces.

Are we supposed to do any calculations related to the formula Ep is directly proportional to polarizability1 times polarizability2 divided by r^6?

I dont believe we need to use that formula? I think we may need to understand how distance and size affects potential energy tho
