How to draw the dipole moment

Postby Kaitlyn Ang 1J » Tue Oct 29, 2019 9:36 am

The book says to draw the dipole arrow with the head pointing to the positive side and the tail at the negative side. However, it does acknowledge that it can be reversed. What does Dr. Lavelle prefer?

This hasn't been discussed yet, but I am more familiar with the arrow pointing towards the more negative region since the electrons would shift that way.

Point the arrow toward the more negative region. You can also put a + on the arrow at the more positive side.
