Dipole Induced- Dipole Induced

Can somebody please give me an example of a dipole induced- dipole induced force? Is it always between two non polar molecules? I wrote in my notes that it is present in all molecules.

Induced dipole - induced dipole is the weakest form of intermolecular force. An example of this could be an interaction between O2 molecules. They have a chance of having a weak dipole moment due to random distribution of electrons, which makes part of the molecule partially positive/negative, attracting towards each other.

I think you mean to say "induced-dipole induced-dipole." Yes this is the weakest form of interaction since it is synonymous with LDF and Van der Waals forces. So technically it is present to some extent in all molecules.

Contrary, "Dipole-Induced-Dipole" is an interaction between a polar molecule like H2O and a nonpolar molecule like N2.

Induced Dipole - Induced Dipole interactions occur between any two molecules. Neither of the molecules has to be polar for this to occur. This means the same thing as Van Der Waals forces and London Dispersion Forces.

This type of inter-molecular force is the same thing as a Van der Wall force and can occur with any molecule and is the weakest form of inter-molecular force. Well an example for this is basically any molecule because even if it doesn't happen as often, there will be a point in time where two elements held together will having apposing partial and cause a force with another molecule that just happens to do the same thing.

Induced dipole-induced dipole forces can occur in all molecules because all molecules have electron clouds that can be distorted by shifting electron clouds in another molecule.

So just to clarify it is dipole induced- dipole induced is the same as london dispersion and van der waals?

Yes, dipole induced-dipole induced is the same as Van Der Waals and London dispersion forces.

Why exactly are there induced dipoles? Is it simply because the molecule would just be more stable if it were bonded or is there another factor that is playing in this?
