Hydrogen Bonds
Are hydrogen bonds (from hydrogen bonding) an actual bond or is it just an attraction force/electrostatic attraction?

Re: Hydrogen Bonds
You can argue that all bonds are just electrostatic forces of attraction. In bonding, there is no solid thing linking the two atoms. They're the same bonds, just intramolecular are stronger than intermolecular.

Re: Hydrogen Bonds
It is a relatively strong force of attraction caused by charges and not a true bond.

Re: Hydrogen Bonds
Hydrogen bonds are intermolecular interactions, and are weaker than the bonds that form within individual compounds.

Re: Hydrogen Bonds
Hydrogen bonds aren't a concrete bond, but rather a favorable electrostatic attraction. This attraction has an energy of approximately -20 kJ/mol.
