Determining radius and magnitude

Postby annemarielawrence » Thu Dec 02, 2021 5:16 pm

Hi, how do we determine the radius and magnitude of a dipole moment? Do we need to know how to determine this for the final?

I remember Lavelle mentioning in class that the electric dipole moment (mu) is measured by multiplying the absolute value of charge by the distance between atoms. I'm not sure if he would ask about this on the final since we haven't really used this equation before.

I don't think that this is something we would need to know for the final, but I believe the above answer would be correct :)
