How do you determine bond lengths?

They're determined experimentally.

Bond length is given unless there is resonance then you must calculate it.

Is there any common bond lengths that we should be familiar with?

They can only be determined experimentally. However, the relative bond lengths can be determined by the electronegativity differences between the elements participating in the bond (carbon-fluorine bonds have a shorter bond length than carbon-bromine bonds)

Whip out your ruler and check.

We don't need to how to get bond lengths, just understand the relationship between strength, length, and single, double, triple, or james bonds.

Would it be safe to just assume that the bond lengths are just the average of all bond lengths on a quiz or test?
