Can someone explain why triple bonds are shorter than double bonds?

The additional electrons involved in a triple bond exert greater attractive forces on the nuclei, thereby shortening the length of the bond.

In addition to the above answer, triple bonds are stronger than double bonds because they have a higher pull of electrons.

The positive nucleus exerts a force on the electrons involved in the triple bond, causing the bond to be stronger and the electrons to be closer to the nucleus, meaning a shorter bond.

I agree, and to add triple bonds are shorter than double bonds due to the pull from the nucleus. Double bonds have a longer bond length due to the large distance and have a weaker pull.
