Calculating Bond Lengths
How do you calculate bond lengths? Do you add the given lengths with a fraction of the number of resonance structures?

Re: Calculating Bond Lengths
There are tables which give you the length of different bonds and differentiate between single, double, and triple bonds. When you have both a single and double bond, you would find the mean length. Same for other combinations.

Re: Calculating Bond Lengths
You calculate bond lengths by finding the mean/average of the given lengths. You also need to check if it is a resonance structure or not.
Re: Calculating Bond Lengths
Weak (longer) bonds are easily broken and more likely involved in reaction.
Strong (shorter) bonds are harder to break and less reactive.

In this case, if it has a resonance structure, what would you do?
