Molar mass and attractive interactions
How does a bigger molar mass exactly result in more attractive interactions between molecules?

Re: Molar mass and attractive interactions
Since an element with a bigger molar mass has more protons to give it that high mass, it also has more electrons. I would assume that that would be one reason.

Re: Molar mass and attractive interactions
If you are referring to the Van Der Waal forces, then molecules with higher molar masses will generally have higher surface areas, thus having higher values of Van Der Waal intermolecular forces.

Re: Molar mass and attractive interactions
Heavier (i.e. large molar mass) molecules contain more electrons and thus have a larger and more polarizable electron cloud. This ultimately results in that molecule's greater possibility of intermolecular interaction by dispersion forces.
