The bond energy between atoms is usually given in the problem. You can therefore use the information given to isolate a certain variable and determine its bond energy. However, it is good to know that double and triple bonds have significantly greater bond energies than single bonds.
Bond energy is the amount of energy needed to break a specific bond. It will be given or you could be ask how it relates to other bonds, we will not be asked to calculate it. It depend on the strength of the bond and the bond length.
We will never be required to calculate bond energy on our own and it will usually be provided to us in the question. It is just good to understand that bond energy is higher for triple and double bonds compared to single bonds. This is because in triple and double bonds, there are more electrons being shared between the atoms and the bond is stronger and more difficult to break, requiring more energy.
