6th edition: 3.87-- bond length vs electronegativity/polarity

For this question, why does the bond length matter more than electronegativity & polarity for determining bond strength?

CF4 bond strength > CCl4 bs > CBr4 bs

Polarity has more to do with INTERmolecular bonds and LDFs. It seems that this question is asking about INTRAmolecular bonds. When talking about intramolecular bonds it is important to note bond length. We generally do not take electronegativity into account when talking about bond strength between atoms. The larger the atom is, the longer the bond will need to cover the larger radius. The longer the bond, the weaker the bond strength.
