Double bond lengths

Postby WilliamNguyen_4L » Fri Dec 07, 2018 5:51 pm

Why is the double bond between Oxygen and Carbon stronger than the double bond between Carbon and Carbon and the double bond between Carbon and Nitrogen?

I think it's because the difference in electronegativity between carbon and oxygen is bigger than that of carbon and carbon or carbon and nitrogen

I thought it was based on the atomic radius and if so how?
