How does size affect bond length?

The bigger the atoms are that are bonded together, the larger the bond length due to the electron-electron repulsions of the electron shells that distance the nucleus of an atom from the valence electrons that are involved in the bonding.

Bond distance/length increases with atomic size. For example, PF3 and NF3 have the same number of valence electrons but PF3 has a longer bond length bc P is large in atomic size/radius than F.

Does bond length also affect how strong the bond is?

The larger the radius of the atoms, the farther each of their centers are apart, and therefore, they have a longer and weaker bond length than smaller radius atoms. The smaller the radius of the atoms, the closer their centers are, and therefore, they have a stronger and shorter bond length than larger ones. Hope this helps clear it up!

Larger size means larger bond length.

As atomic radius increases, bond length also increases.

The larger the size of the atoms, the more likely their bond length will be greater.

As an atom increases, they have more electrons which causes more electron repulsion.
