Use the covalent radii in Fig. 2D.11 to calculate the bond lengths in the following molecules. Account for the trends in your calculated values: (a) CF 4 ; (b) SiF 4 ; (c) SnF 4 .

How do you use the covalent radii to calculate bond lengths? Also is this something that could be on test 2?

im also wondering if this will be on Test 2?
but I just added the covalent radii to get the bond length.

You basically just find the radius of each atom that is bonded together in the table and you add them together. The sum of the covalent radii is the bond length. We will probably never see this on any test because it is a weird question since you need a table to calculate the values.

yeah i dont think were expected to know how to calculate exact bond length for any tests in this course

Does anyone know if this will be on midterm 2, or where mid term 2 even ends?
