Hi,

This was one of the questions for Outline 3 from section 2.D. Can someone explain this please?

Use the covalent radii in Fig. 2D.11 to calculate the bond lengths in the following molecules. Account for the trends in your calculated values:
a. CF4
b. SiF4
c. SnF4

Hi,
I think you first find the radius of each atom that is bonded together and add them together. That will give you the bond length. So for a), you add the radius of C with radius of F.
