3D shape Lewis Diagrams
When we are asked to draw a Lewis diagram, do we need to know how to draw the shaded, 3D version as well?

No, you can draw that if you would like to, but a regular Lewis dot structure will suffice. :) As long as you can also identify the shape and bond angles, I think you're good

So we don't need to determine which bonds will be shaded or be represented by spaced lines?

It seems like the best way to go about it for me is to just memorize all of the shapes and their respective bond angles, but just continue to draw the 2d Lewis structures. Just be able to recognize the patterns of relationships behind the 2d models and their 3d shapes.
