4.25 lewis structure

4.25 lewis structure
Hi the solution manual shows a lewis structure for SCl4 rather than SF4 for part D. Just wanted to confirm it would be the same structure just replaced with F rather than Cl? Or would it be slightly different?

yes, SF4 would be the same shape and lewis structure as the SCl4 as it is shown in the answer book just with F instead of Cl.

since F and Cl both belong to the same group and are both halogens the lewis structure would be the same.

In this problem, why isn't CH2Cl2 nonpolar? It seems like the dipole moments would cancel out. Do all of the outer atoms need to be the same for a molecule to be nonpolar?

^ 4.25A would be polar because although the 2D illustration looks like the charges would cancel out if you view the 3D model of a Tetrahedral shape they do not.
