Double and Triple Bonds

Postby Iris Shim 1E » Mon Nov 27, 2017 2:57 pm

Do double or triple bonds affect the structure of a molecule? For example, on question 4.11 part b, there's a double bond between the O and the P, but would it push the other atoms further away affecting the angles in between the atoms, thus the structure?

No, in the VSEPR model single, double, and triple bonds all count as one area of electron density.
