Regions of electron density

Do lone pairs on the non central atom count as regions of electron density as well??

I believe the lone pairs of electrons only count when they are around the central atom. I think the lone pairs around a non central atom would form a molecular structure called a bent or a gray circle representing the lone pair.

electron density counts for both bonding and unshared electron pairs around the central atom

VSPER theory is only concerned with the regions of electron density around the central atom. Lone pairs on non central atoms don't count as regions of electron density

With VSPEPR I think we only consider lone pairs on the central atom.

Lone pairs around the central atom are considered a single region of electron density, and when looking at the VSPER model, we are only considering the electron densities around the central atom

Lone pairs do count as an area of electron density, but in the VSEPR model you only consider the actual atoms attached to the atom when looking at it's structure and naming it. That being said, lone pairs on the central atom will impact the structure because of electron repulsion.

regions of electron density are lone pair electrons and bonds
