Remembering Bond Angles

Postby Emily 1E » Sat May 26, 2018 11:44 am

Will we have to memorize bond angles for the final? How much detail will we have to know about them?

Yes, I think you should know the bond angles associated with each shape.

Do we also need to know the name of the bonds and the name of the shape they make?

I'm assuming we need to know both the bond names and the shape they make as well especially since past tests that I've looked at asked for small details like that.

I believe we will need to know bond angles but most shapes are very easy such as if the molecule has four atoms attached to the central atom you would divide by 360 degrees to get each bond angle being 90 degrees so for the most part it is not really about memorizing but understanding shapes.
