VSPER MODEL
When determining what kind of shape an element has how do we know which resonance structure is used?

Re: VSPER MODEL
I usually find the total number of electrons first and then begin to make a structure that will contain the lowest formal charge. It's usually guess and check for me.
-Guess the structure.
-Check the formal charge.

Re: VSPER MODEL
I'm pretty sure Lavelle mentioned resonance structures don't affect VSEPR models, but lone pairs do.

Re: VSPER MODEL
I was wondering if anyone knew how to treat lone pairs when trying to name the molecular geometry?
