Sigma and Pi Bonds

How would you be able to tell whether a bond is a sigma or a pi bond?

First, you would need to have the Lewis Structure provided or draw the Lewis Structure for the molecule. Then you would look at at where the molecule forms single bonds those would be your sigma bonds and wherever it forms double bonds you would have one pi bond and one sigma bond and wherever triple bonds are formed you would have one sigma bond and two pi bonds. After, you have went around the molecule counting the sigma and pi and bonds just add all the sigma and then add the pi bonds.

double bonds = one pi bond + one sigma bond
triple bonds = one sigma bond + two pi bonds
this is all i know
