What is the difference between molecular and electron geometry? eg: how can you tell which one (like tetrahedral) is which, and are they mutually exclusive?

Electron geometry teaches us about the arrangement of different electron groups and we consider both the lone electron pairs and bond electron pairs. Through electron geometry we get the spatial arrangement of lone pairs and bond in the molecule. Molecular geometry helps us understand the entire atom and its 3D arrangement of the atoms bonded to a central atom; we only consider only the bond electron pairs and exclude lone pairs.

does this question apply to the example we did in lecture in which XeF4 was defined as having octahedral geometry and square planar shape? I was confused by this.
