Postby Isabel Nakoud 4D » Sat Nov 24, 2018 5:04 pm

Why is Nitrogen the central atom in N2O?

Nitrogen has the lowest ionization energy and the least electronegativity therefore it falls in the center of the structure.

This rule usually applies to most structures, where the central atom is the element with the lowest ionization energy and least electronegativity.

Are there any other molecules that are like N2O with N as the central atom?
