Can someone explain dipole moment and how we can tell if a molecule has it?

Bond dipole moment is used to measure the polarity of a chemical bond within a molecule. There is a dipole moment whenever there is a separation of positive and negative charges due to the unequal attraction that the two atoms have for the bonded electrons. The larger the difference in electronegativities between two atoms, the larger the dipole moment.
