VSEPR Shape vs Molecular Geometry
On the exam, how would we know whether to give the VSEPR name aka (linear, trigonal planar, tetrahedral, trigonal bipyramidal or octahedral) or the molecular geometry aka (bent, trigonal pyramidal, seesaw, T-shape). What specific words indicate which name they want.

Re: VSEPR Shape vs Molecular Geometry
The past exams have asked for the molecular geometry. I believe if you were being asked for the VSEPR geometry it would specifically say VSEPR.

They are the same thing. Electron geometry would be when lone pairs are considered when determining shape, but it seems like this is almost never considered.

Re: VSEPR Shape vs Molecular Geometry
If it says geometry, it always means the shape with lone pairs and bond pairs
